Off to work

Whenever my little baby sees her Daddy leave for work, she immediately asks if she has a backpack so she can go to work too. Hubby’s laptop bag is a backpack. We bought it more than 5 years ago and up to know it’s as good as when we bought it. He’s so used to that any laptop bag that comes with a new laptop is immediately stored in one of our cabinets.

Anyway, since my baby likes to play pretend at this stage we’re thinking of getting one this weekend. Most kids backpacks nowadays are versatile that I know I can use it too if ever I needed a handy bag. I usually use a small bag anyway, and most of the contents are baby things so the backpack may just be the perfect bag for both of us.  But for the meantime, I’ll just let the little one play pretend that the backpack mean it’s off to work she goes.

It’s about the money

Have you ever had to stay a bit longer in a restaurant because they’re having problems with your bill? Yep, that’s exactly what happened to us today.

I decided to treat my family out since I received a little money. The order-taking, the food, everything went great except for the last part when we had to pay our bill and there were problems with their POS. I’ve been in situations before but it didn’t take this long (20 minutes). By the time we paid and got the receipt I think I already digested most of my food!

The whole restaurant experience failed just because of that. Our kids got restless, the adults hated waiting… it was a disaster. For restaurants to succeed, it’s not just about the food and service. Having the proper equipment help a lot too. I hope that restaurant upgrades their POS to an Aldelo System to ensure it won’t happen again. Because their food is okay, maybe I’ll try them out again… after a year when they realize they need to change their system.
